About this property

Welcome to Arlo SoHo

Located in the vibrant SoHo neighborhood at 231 Hudson St, Arlo SoHo offers Scandinavian-style accommodations characterized by clean, modern design and compact layouts. Guests can expect comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with practical amenities such as free Wi-Fi, although some have noted the room sizes are on the smaller side and bathrooms feature sliding frosted glass doors instead of full enclosures. The property is smoke-free and accessible but does not provide facilities like a pool, fitness center, or airport shuttle.

The hotel features two bars and an on-site restaurant, Lindens, which receives strong praise for its New American cuisine and welcoming service. There is also a bodega offering snacks and convenience items, though coffee quality has been mentioned as an area for improvement. Additional conveniences include paid parking and a loaner bike program, supporting guests who want to explore the city actively. Check-in is from 3 PM, with check-out by noon.

Arlo SoHo is well-suited for visitors who prefer a quieter location slightly removed from the busiest tourist areas but still within walking distance to landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, and the Empire State Building. Its proximity to local dining, cafés, and co-working spaces appeals to solo travelers and those in New York for business or leisure seeking a balance between comfort and connectivity. Some reviewers highlight attentive and friendly staff as a key positive aspect of their stay.

While many guests appreciate the convenient setting and the helpfulness of the team, some mention room size and limited in-room storage as potential drawbacks, especially for longer stays or those traveling with more luggage. Overall, the hotel offers a practical base for exploring Lower Manhattan with a straightforward offering that focuses on essentials rather than luxury.

Stayed here for 7 nights and it was the most comfortable stay! We were greeted by Luna at check-in who offered us complimentary breakfast for 2 mornings at Lindens because of our duration of stay, as well as complimentary drinks at the rooftop bar and 20% off at the hotel bodega. This was so unexpected but we greatly appreciated these gestures after our 24+ hour travels from Australia. The location is perfect, easy to get anywhere in NY and away from the busyness in the centre of Soho. Rooms were clean and just to note, you need to request full room clean services but that is easily done through messaging the in house guest services. The shower has the best water pressure I've experienced in any hotel in the 10+ years I've been travelling back and forth to New York. The bodega is well stocked, pricey but you pay for the convenience. Alot of options from sandwiches, breakfast oats, fruit and a great amount of snacks. Only downside is that the coffee is not the best. Lindens, the restaurant attached was delicious, great service and every breakfast item we tried was amazing. No notes. All of the staff are super friendly and cool and definitely does not give the pretentious NY vibes that some other hotels in this area have. All in all, such a wonderful stay and this will now be my go-to hotel for every trip. Another shout out to Luna for really setting the tone for our stay here, you are amazing!

Al at the front desk treated me like I was checking into a $1k/night room - just absolutely stellar service. They granted me early check-in. There’s an excellent co-working space just beyond the lobby. Minuscule room - barely bigger than the bed. But well-designed, considering. Immaculately clean. Very comfy bed and pillows. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, this is a solid spot. I will happily return.

The experience here was fantastic. If I could give extra stars for service, I would. Our trip encountered a curve ball (nothing to do with the hotel) so Andrew & Al went above and beyond to help us out (so great). The rooms were clean and the umbrella came in handy! Bonus: if you require a spot to do some work, there is plenty of space for that (which we did). Bottom line: we'll be back.

I had a great stay at Arlo Soho! As a solo traveler, just for a few days in NY for a work event, Arlo was the perfect spot! All staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The restaurant onsite is really good! Location is great! Easy to walk around with lots of restaurants close by. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom door is no really a door, it doesn't completely close. Since I was alone, that was not a problem.

Perfect location. If you prefer staying a bit away from the busiest tourist areas, this hotel is an excellent choice. SoHo and Tribeca are charming neighborhoods with beautiful streets and architecture — simply walking around already feels like an experience. The hotel is surrounded by great restaurants, cafés, and bars, and it’s close to Bleecker Street, where you can find live music venues featuring blues and rock. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained, and having a restaurant and bar on site is very convenient. The elevators are fast, and the rooms are fair considering the price and location. They are on the smaller side, so if you have a lot of luggage it might feel tight. However, since our goal was to enjoy the city and we only used the room to sleep, the size didn’t bother us — and the view we had made up for it. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was very positive. I would definitely stay here again.

Service: literally everyone who works here is lovely. At front desk, in the 'bodega', in the restaurant, in the cocktail bar, and the cleaning folks - all so friendly and helpful. Rooms: my room was small but cozy and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Could do with a little more storage or at least a few more hooks for hanging clothes. The bathroom was a fogged glass unit with a sliding door instead of a proper en suite, which I didn't love, but since I was alone it wasn't a huge deal. Location: the location couldn't be better. It's a quiet road so you aren't bothered by noise, but it's within easy walking distance of some very cool spots (Brooklyn bridge being one!) and the subway is super close too.

I stayed in January & absolutely loved it. The staff was nice, personable, & accommodating. We ate at Lindens & the food & drinks were so perfect that we didn't bother getting food anywhere else. We even had a coursed out meal in a heated cottage on our last day. The location is great for shopping & site seeing as well. I've thought about the trip every week since & can't wait to go back.

The hotel was nice, modern and clean. But … the room was impossibly small (I guess that’s standard in NYC though). I’m a petite person so I managed ok but if I were normal size I would’ve had a hard time moving around that room, especially if visiting as a couple. Room was well insulated, couldn’t hear any noise from above or adjacent rooms but the window shades let a lot of the street light coming in at night, which was a problem because there was construction work outside going around the clock. They offer no free coffee/tea which is pretty standard anywhere west of NYC. Make sure to read the little card they give you at check in as it has some good discounts you might want to take advantage of.
